Please be advised that this is a working copy. We are simply putting the text we have in workable format so the Shantee, Ishanti, Dakota, Lakota, and the other Sioux tribes have a document they can work with. I do not think it is perfect, though we have done what we have been able to fix the errors we have found. However, if you have a KJV, and speak the language, it should be a simple matter to get them agreeing together. Some of the errors we found were from people playing with the text apparently because they thought the Indians could not handle what it actually said, which is ridiculous and God express;y tells us not to do that! I only wish we knew the language better so we could put it up here perfectly for you all. But, God is most likely calling someone else to do that part of this project.
The work is public domain and was originally translated out of the French by Joseph Renville (who was of French and Dakota descent and respected by everyone regardless of race) with help from Riggs and Dr. Williamson. We do not have a hard copy of the Old Testament, so we have tried our best to fix the errors that happened when the document was scanned. I hope you can work with this and finally have the Word of God back in your hands. This never was a white man's document- it belongs to all mankind as given by the Creator. God bless you and may He continue to guide the work for His people.
